Nowadays many people use the Internet. Do you know who owns the internet? Most people believe that the internet is owned by Jio, Airtel, Vodafone, and BSNL but this is absolutely wrong. These companies only deliver the internet to us, in the same way as the farmers themselves deliver food grains and fruits and vegetables to small shopkeepers.
Who owns the Internet?
There are three tiers of Internet Service Providers.
First
- At the first level are those companies which have connected one country to another by laying optical fiber cables in the sea.
- These companies have laid cable nets in the sea by investing their own money.
- Eg:- NTT Communications, Orange (Open Transmit), Sprint, TATA Communication
Second
- At the second level come those companies which provide internet in a country.
- These companies, along with the first-level companies, provide internet services in the country.
- Like:- Jio, Vodafone, Airtal, BSNL, etc.
Third
- At the third level come the companies that deliver to your homes and offices.
- These companies along with other level companies bring internet to us.
